Fishing Information

The Brown trout season runs from April 1st to September 30th

Please note that there is a brown trout protection order in place on the River Don, which prevents fishing on Sundays.

The salmon season runs from February 11th to October 31st.

Fishing News

Our annual Norwegian visitors Rolf and Bjorn had a fairly barren time on our own beat during the last week of April due mainly to the volume of Water flowing due to snow melt, although they did catch 3 Brown trout the best to about 8oz.

 South African Visitor Malcolm Carey caught 6 Brown trout the best to about 1lb 2oz , and had the smallest taken by a Salmon as he was landing it, which snapped his line.

We can arrange for a Ghillie should anyone wish, but we would need prior
notice of at least 3 weeks as he is not local to the area but has fished the
Don for the last seventeen years.
